Britney Spears is inviting fans to make their own promo for her new single.

The 25-year-old singer - who recently filmed a music video for her next single 'Piece of Me' - is looking for budding filmmakers to submit their own promo for the song and the winner will be shown on MTV's hit show 'TRL'.

On Monday (03.12.07), MTV will launch the 'Britney Spears Wants a Piece of You' contest, making available a wealth of Britney footage shot over the years - including interviews, red-carpet appearances and performances - at www.mtv.com, which contestants can access via the 'MTV Video Remixer'.

Fans can then "pick the shots" they like and "mash them up", before submitting their film by hitting the 'send' button.

Films should be 3 minutes 34 seconds in length or shorter and must be submitted by December 14.

MTV, Jive Records and Britney herself will decide the winner, whose video will be premiered exclusively on 'TRL' on December 20.

Britney's own official video for the song will not premiere until January.

The star's promo - which was shot on Tuesday (27.11.07) - was filmed at Los Angeles restaurant Social Hollywood and was directed by Wayne Isha, who created the video for her 2002 hit 'I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman'.

A source said: "In the video, Britney and her dancers enter a club in matching wigs and trench coats in order to sneak her in. But once they get in she takes off her disguise, and ends up being followed by the paparazzi anyway."
